New Amazon Originals
The Amazon Original Movies that debut this month are:
- Val (a documentary about actor Val Kilmer) — Aug. 6
- Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time (the final installment of a Japanese anime film series) — Aug. 13
- Annette (the opening film at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, which stars Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard) — Aug. 20
The Amazon Original Series that debut this month are:
- Making the Cut: Season 2 (a fashion competition series starring Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn) — Aug. 6
- Modern Love: Season 2 (an anthology series based on the New York Times column by the same name) — Aug. 6
And one Amazon Original Special debuts this month:
- Pete the Cat: Back to School Operetta (stars the cartoon character from the Pete the Cat children’s book series) — Aug. 27
WNBA games coming to Prime Video
Amazon recently acquired exclusive global streaming rights to Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) games.
The following games will stream in August:
- Seattle vs. Connecticut (Commissioner’s Cup Championship Game) — Aug. 12 (timing TBC)
- Minnesota at Connecticut — Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. ET
- Seattle at New York — Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. ET
- Dallas at Washington — Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. ET
- New York at Minnesota — Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. ET
